In early May 2006 I accomapanied Jeff Moore from Just Us! Coffee Roasters (Grand Pre Nova Scotia) to photograph the life and locations encompassing the towns of Lachiguiri, Chayotepec and Lachiviza in the southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Excerpt: "The portly little bully sallied up to to Jeffs window and immediately demanded a licence and would only repeat his accusation of our disrespect for the traffic laws. At home in Canada we would freely surrender our licence to a local police officer but after the somewhat dismissive advice given by our rental car agent not to give the police our passport or licence and that we should only consider coughing up no more than 100 pesos ($9), Jeff reluctantly showed the policeman his licence in hope that he would simply acknowledge our citizenship as law abiding, complacent Canadians and be happy with the 100 pesos we had reluctantly set aside for just this purpose."
